SAFHIS Launches Clinic Assistant (CA) Role

Key Permissions: CAs can manage Medical Screening Appointments, but are strictly restricted from accessing or editing Electronic Medical Records (EMR). They are approved directly by the facility's PIC.

Onboarding Steps:

  • Invite: PIC adds the CA's email via User Management.
  • Register & Verify: CA creates an account, uploads their ID/Employment Pass, and verifies via OTP.
  • Approve: PIC activates the pending CA account.

Employers handle administrative tasks like obtaining licences, booking appointments, and bringing workers to the clinic, while medical facilities conduct the clinical screenings and certify the worker's fitness.

No, workers with MSEN licences are excluded from the SAFHIS workflow, whereas workers with SANSOLS labour licences are required to undergo SAFHIS medical screening. Since the MSEN system began phasing out in January 2025, please refer to the attached MSEN vs. SANSOLS Labour Licence guide below for visual examples of the documents and specific requirements.

SAFHIS uses specific X-ray measurements to determine a worker's fitness for both new applications and renewals. Please refer to the attached SAFHIS X-ray Reporting Guideline below for the exact diagnostic thresholds, such as granuloma size or cardiothoracic ratio, that guide for a "Fit" or "Unfit" certification.
